How to give travel advice with SnappyGo

So, you´ve created a great travel planner profile with SnappyGo and now you´re ready to start making some extra cash by sharing your insider travel advice. You might well be wondering what´s the next step: How can you give travel advice with SnappyGo?

Some of you travel planners will have noticed that SnappyGo recently introduced a brand new “Book Now” button, which will change the way in which you receive travel advice requests. This basically means that there are now two ways of receiving requests for travel advice: the “Book Now” route and the “travel advice request” route.

To help you find your way around the new functionality  – and to answer all your questions –  here is a step-by-step guide to how to give travel advice with SnappyGo.

The “Book Now” route

Step 1 – Get booked:  If someone has booked you using the new “Book Now” button, you´ll receive a message in your SnappyGo and email accounts saying “Congratulations, you won!”

This is great news for you – it means that the client loved your travel planner profile and they´ve already paid SnappyGo for your travel advice. Now it´s up to you to give them the best possible  travel advice you can give.

Tip - Your client will have bought one of 3 personalized itineraries, Basic, Standard or Pro. When giving your travel advice, make sure that you follow the travel itinerary guidelines and provide the correct amount of advice for the travel planner package the client has bought.

The “Travel advice request” route

Step 1 – Get booked
If someone has booked you using the free “Post a travel advice request” option, you´ll receive a message in your SnappyGo and email accounts saying “Action Required: Make an offer and start giving Travel Advice!”

This means it´s your chance to compete with other travel planners to convince the client that you´re the right person for the job. To make an offer, simply log in to your SnappyGo account, go to “My Travel Advice information”, and click on the “Make a $ bid” button.

Then make an offer based on the length of their stay and how confident you feel giving advice on that destination. For tips on how to do this, check our blog on How much should you charge.

If you´re chosen for the job, you´ll receive a message in your SnappyGo and email accounts saying you´ve been booked. Fantastic news: this means they´ve already paid SnappyGo for your travel planner services and you´re ready to start sharing your insider travel knowledge!

The rest of the steps are the same whether you were booked using the book now button or through a bid…here´s what you have to do:

Step 2 – Find out everything you can:

Once you´ve been booked, log in to your SnappyGo account, go to “My travel Advice invitations”, and click on the orange “Advice” button next to your confirmed travel advice request.

Chat tool - conversation with client

This will take you to a messaging system where you can chat with your client. This is your chance to ask him or her everything you need to know to give great travel advice: e.g. How long are they going for? When are they going? What are their interests?

If you feel like you need more information, this is also your chance to set up a meeting on Skype so you can really get to know your client.

Step 3. Start giving travel advice –

Once you´ve found out everything you need to know from your client, it´s time to start giving travel planner advice. Click on the “Personalized Itinerary” link at the top of the messaging system.

Next, fill in as much information as you can. Make sure you include information on Hotels and Restaurants as well as a personalized itinerary and insider tips – check out our How much should you charge blog for advice on how much information to include for different types of trips. If you were booked using the ´Book now´button, remember to follow the correct personalized itinerary guidelines for your package.

You can save your itinerary as you go along, so there´s no need to do it all in one sitting. If you want to see what your itinerary will look like, simple click on the “Preview itinerary” link. You can also click on “Send PDF to my email” to receive a PDF copy – this is very useful as you´ll be able to copy and paste some sections for future travel requests.

Once your itinerary is completed, send a message to you client to let them know that their travel request is completed.

Step 4. Get paid –

After letting your client know that you´ve finished giving your travel advice, it´s time to tell SnappyGo. Simply send a quick email to info@snappygo.com to tell them that you´ve completed the travel advice request.

Next, SnappyGo will reply to your email with your payment (minus their 30% commission). The payment will be made through PayPal, so remember to set up your own a PayPal account in order to claim your fee.

And that´s it! I hope you´ve found this guide useful. If you have any more questions about how to give advice as a travel planner with SnappyGo, check out our FAQs or email info@snappygo.com. Good luck with the travel advising!
